A little bit about me: my mom calls me humble, my wife calls me too silly for my own good, and my clients call me over and over again because they like my work and they like working with me.
I love to listen; I love to talk. I hate my allergies which makes me talk like my nose is stuffed with a ton of tissues.
I’ve been a professional photographer for a lot of years; I’ve got a lot left in me.
I’m good at what I do.
I like forming instant connections with people in a way that gives my portraits a sense of immediacy. One time, I shot a man who analyzed bowel movements for a living. Seriously! We had a really involved conversation about – well, you know. And I took a few pictures, too. The guy looked at me afterwards and said “I bet you can talk to anyone about anything.”
Another time, I was shooting a portrait of a brash business boss and as she stared into the camera with contempt she sneered, “I know what you’re doing. You’re distracting me so you can take a better photo.” Well, “you caught me,” I replied as I quickly snapped a series of photos while she let her guard down. But she had it all wrong. The truth is, I love my job. I love meeting people, finding out what makes them tick all the while going click, click, click.
I love what I do and it shows. It’s all way too much fun.
